How to choose a driving simulator for training

Choose around the learner and the exercises, not the model number. Start with the vehicle type and training tasks, then confirm controls, visual displays, software and the installation space.

Decisions to make

1

Define the learner

Tell us whether the system is for novice drivers, a driving school, commercial-driver training or a research project. List the exercises you need to teach.

2

Match the controls to the vehicle

Passenger cars and trucks need different control arrangements. Confirm manual or automatic transmission requirements, pedal layout and any truck high/low gear practice.

3

Review the complete configuration

Check the display arrangement, software content, instructor requirements and motion options together. A motion platform alone does not define the training capability.

02

Compare your options

Before you choose

Does more motion always mean better training?

No. The controls, exercises and software must fit the training objective. Compare the complete system before selecting motion options.

Is VR included?

Our simulator range supports VR options. Headset supply and compatibility with the selected configuration must be confirmed; VR support does not mean a headset is included.

Can it replace real-vehicle training?

Treat it as a training support tool. Any licensing or curriculum requirements must be checked with the relevant local authority.
